Keppel moves to build its environmental engineering businessThe Board and Management of Keppel Integrated Engineering Limited (KIE) announces that Mr Tong Chong Heong will take over from Mr Wong Boon Kong as Chairman of KIE with immediate effect.
Mr Tong, who is also currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd, has been serving as a Board Member of KIE since 1999.
Meanwhile, Mr Wong will continue to serve on the KIE Board as Executive Director.
Mr Michael Chia, Managing Director (Offshore) of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd, the world leader in the design and construction of offshore rigs, will be seconded to KIE and will be appointed as its Deputy Chairman with immediate effect. Mr Chua Chee Wui, CEO of KIE, will report directly to Mr Chia.
Explaining these moves, Mr Choo Chiau Beng, CEO of Keppel Corporation, said, “With Chong Heong and Michael bolstering the team, KIE will benefit from their invaluable experience, network, as well as their track record of execution excellence.
